The Montgomery Diversity and Inclusion Committee has worked to create and implement ideas that promote positive relations among Montgomery residents and create a welcoming environment for all those who live, visit, work, and recreate in Montgomery. Residents can show their support for Montgomery’s diversity by picking up a #IamMontgomery yard sign at City Hall. The yard signs are free to residents while supplies last.
The City of Montgomery, like most American communities, is growing and diversifying. Today, whether shopping at the local Montgomery Kroger or attending a City-sponsored event, residents commonly meet and connect with neighbors of different backgrounds and cultures. Sycamore Community Schools has a student population representing 41 nationalities and spoken languages, making it one of the most culturally diverse systems in the state. The Montgomery Diversity and Inclusion Committee was created in 2018 to support acceptance and understanding in the community.
