The Montgomery Quarter (formerly known as the Gateway Redevelopment Area (GRA)), located along the east side of Montgomery Road between Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway and Main Street, has been a priority for the City for many years. A vision for this site was first documented in the 2006-2011 Strategic Plan.
The concept of expanding the redevelopment area to include the land just east of Montgomery Road at the end of Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway originated and evolved from the process to select a development team in 2015. From that point, the City has worked diligently with a multitude of partners on engineering studies and design to determine the roadway modifications required to allow redevelopment of the additional land.
The intersection improvement project will improve traffic patterns at the existing interchange and provide better access to the Montgomery Quarter. Key project partners throughout the process include the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments (OKI); Hamilton County Commissioners, Engineer’s Office, and Transportation Improvement District (TID); Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT); Sycamore Community Schools; State legislators; and the Montgomery City Council and Chamber of Commerce.
