Kids can make great friends, be a part of a team and stay in shape! This is a great opportunity for youth to become stronger swimmers, make friends and have FUN! This team is focused on developing youth into team players, each making a contribution towards the goal and success of the whole team. Although competition is an element in any sport, the goal of the Montgomery Makos is self-improvement of each of its members, not on competitive marks and records.

Participants must be able to swim 25 meters freestyle, submerge, feel comfortable in deep water and be a current member of the municipal pool. Team size is limited to 120 members with a certain maximum of swimmers per age group (4-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-18). The team will be staffed by a full time coach, assistant coach and a part-time coach as well as an adequate number of lifeguards on duty for all team practice and home meets. The Makos Swim Team is a member of the Tri-County Swim League.

Participation requires attendance at daily practices for one-hour between 8:30am and 11am, Monday through Friday. Also, volunteer hours from parents for practices and meets, and the purchase of needed team equipment such as team suit, goggles and swim cap are a necessary part in swim team participation.

The Montgomery Makos Swim Team accommodates a team of 120 members ages 4 to 17. The fees for the 2012 season have not yet been set, but will be posted here once they are available.

Registration begins March 14, 2012 for returning members and April 4 for new members.
