Background Record Checks

From time to time we have inquiries to perform a criminal records check on individuals.  Our agency can only release information on incidents that occurred here in the City limits of Montgomery.   We can do a local records check, however, if you are needing arrest information that occurred in a neighboring city, county or state, you must have those done at the Hamilton County Justice Center, 1000 Sycamore St., Cincinnati, Ohio.  They are the ONLY agency in Hamilton County that can perform a criminal history records check for other agencies.

The Montgomery Fire Department inspects all commercial buildings annually and residential buildings upon request. These inspectors identify potential life safety hazards.  For more information, call the Montgomery Fire Department at 985-1633.

Infant Car Seat Inspections

This free inspection of your infant car seat installation will help to insure the safety of your child should you be involved in an accident. This program is designed to evaluate the car seat you are using and to verify its correct installation. We don’t install it for you, rather we teach you to correctly install it yourself so you can remove and reinstall it without worry.

The training necessary to fully understand all the various car seats manufactured and the correct way to install them in different vehicles limits the number of fire personnel that are certified to do this for our community.  Appointments are necessary and should be made as far in advance as possible.  For more information, contact the Fire Department at 985-1633.

HomeSAFE Checks

Meet the Firefighter

Meet the firefighter is a preschool program we use to introduce young children to firefighters. It was found that when we were outfitted in all of our protective gear, we were intimidating to most children. If confronted by us in an emergency, these children were apt to run and hide from us making rescue more difficult. We have the children meet us dressed like everyone else, and then we put on our gear piece-by-piece in front of them and encourage them to touch our air bottle, gloves, coat, etc. They learn to come to us in an emergency rather than hiding.  These programs are normally presented at day care and pre-school centers, but any organized gathering of children in this age group may be considered. Please contact us at (513) 985-1633 for additional information.

Neighborhood Watch

The City of Montgomery Neighborhood Watch Program is a crime prevention tool, which enlists the active participation of citizens in cooperation with the Montgomery Police Department, and the Ohio Crime Prevention Association to reduce crime in the city. Networks of neighbors are trained by crime prevention officers regarding how to protect themselves and their property, as well as how to serve effectively as additional eyes and ears for law enforcement.  If you are interested in becoming involved with this important program, please call the Montgomery Police Department at (513) 985-1600.

Safety Village

Safety Village is a one-week, summer safety camp for children entering Kindergarten or First Grade.  Children learn about various aspects of child safety.
