City of Montgomery to begin Tweets

New technology has revolutionized the way people communicate. It’s also changing the way Montgomery can quickly — and economically — communicate important information to residents who elect to receive those messages.

Twitter is among the most popular social networking site available, giving users a chance to update one, two or thousands of “friends” with just one posting, known as a Tweet. Tweets offer city governments a tool to communicate upcoming events and classes or agenda topics at council meetings.

In addition to establishing a Twitter account, the City of Montgomery also has created a YouTube station to post videos about the City and highlights of events.

With the upcoming water main project, spearheaded by Greater Cincinnati Water Works, the City sees these social networking applications as useful tools to communicate updates to residents on this project and other important projects.
