2nd Annual Tour De Montgomery bike ride and fundraiser returns July 19

The second annual Tour de Montgomery cycling benefit ride will be held Saturday, July 19.  The event generates funding for the non-profit group HeartStone FoundationThis link goes to an Internet web site, which offers financial assistance to local individuals facing medical emergencies so they can concentrate on healing. Last year the Tour generated $10,000 to benefit a patient recently diagnosed with breast cancer.  This year, the HeartStone Foundation hopes to raise $18,000, according to Tour Chair Gary Gross.  

Sponsored by the City of Montgomery and the HeartStone FoundationThis link goes to an Internet web site, with assistance from the local cycling group G4B, the Tour de Montgomery is offered for riders of all ages and ability levels. Events are designed for a range of ability levels from elite cyclists to families wanting a casual ride together. 

Four different ride options will be available:

All rides will begin at Montgomery Elementary School, 9609 Montgomery Road.  Start times will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m., depending on the route chosen.
Register before July 12 is $30 for an individual rider or for an entire family participating in the family ride.  Registration is $35 after July 12.  Interested individuals and teams may also register as HeartStoneThis link goes to an Internet web site Fundraisers and set goals to further help the HeartStone Foundation and its beneficiaries.
