Tour de Montgomery rides the morning of Bastille Day
On Saturday, July 18, the City of Montgomery and the HeartStone Foundation will hold the third annual HeartStone Tour de Montgomery cycling benefit ride. On the morning of Bastille Day, another event with a French tradition, the HeartStone Tour de Montgomery, will be offered with the goal of helping
The Tour de Montgomery is for riders of all ages and ability levels from elite cyclists to families riding casually together. Four different ride options will be available:
- 70-mile route with challenging hills
- 35-mile route with more rolling terrain
- 25-miles novice route – mostly on the bike trail and led by more experienced cyclists
- 7-mile family ride through the neighborhoods of Montgomery
All rides will begin at Montgomery Elementary School, 9609 Montgomery Road. Start times will be between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. depending on the route chosen. Proceeds of the event, through the HeartStone Foundation, will go to benefit local individuals facing catastrophic illnesses with little ability to pay their medical expenses.
The Heart Stone Foundation
was formed as a non-profit 501(c)(3) whose mission is to relieve the financial strain on individuals fighting life threatening medical conditions by directly paying the health care or service provider from funds raised through personal donations and community wide events, thus allowing the patient the financial freedom to focus on healing. The City has partnered with the HeartStone Foundation
to be able to add this great feature to our sister city celebration, Bastille Day. Registration and details on the HeartStone Tour de Montgomery are available on the HeartStone Foundation’s web site.![]()
