How many miles of streets are there in Montgomery?

How many miles of bike paths are there in Montgomery?

The City of Montgomery has nearly 11 miles of comprehensive bike paths creating a continuous link to our parks and neighborhoods. The city is committed to the continual maintenance and improvement of all city owned bike paths. For a bikepath map or to report a problem, please call 891-2424.

How do I report a broken traffic signal or street light?

The City of Montgomery has a private contractor that maintains all traffic signals and Cinergy maintains all street lights. Please report all malfunctioning traffic signals and street lights by calling 891-2424. The location and pole number will help us service the problem faster, so please have this information handy when you notify us.

What is the public right-of-way?

The right-of-way is a strip of land owned by the City, which usually includes the roadway, the land between the roadway and the sidewalk or utility poles. What do I need to do before digging/excavating a property?

Prior to digging on private or public property, call the Ohio Utilities Protection Service at 1-800-362-2764 so they can properly identify the location of all underground service lines. A permit is required for all work performed in the public right-of-way.

Why has paint been sprayed on my street/sidewalk/driveway?

Paint markings are used to indicate the location of underground cables, wires, or pipes. Each color indicates a different utility. If you have any questions or concerns about paint on or around your property, please call 891-2424.

Do I need an inspection of work done in the right-of-way?

Yes, all construction on sidewalks, public streets, street openings, and driveway apron replacements are reviewed by the City of Montgomery. The Public Works Inspector may be contacted at 891-2424.

Where can I get a map of the City?

Small street maps of the city may be picked up at City Hall as well as larger zoning maps. Zoning maps are also on display in the Building Department. Typically, a nominal copying fee is charged.
