Located at 9854 Zig Zag Road

This Federal-style house is one of several pre-1860 farmhouses remaining in Montgomery. The early part of the house was built by Abraham Crist, who came from Orange County, N.Y. in 1807-08. The property remained in the Crist family until 1869 when the deed showed the house being owned by J. Addison along with 45.3 acres. There is a story told that during the Civil War when Morgan's Raiders were in the area, occupants of the house suspended their valuables in the well for safekeeping.
