CodeRed Emergency Communications Network
The CodeRed high-speed calling system is capable of making up to 60,000 telephone calls to deliver a recorded message from emergency personnel.
With CodeRed, emergency crews can:
- Electronically designate a geographic area
- Record an emergency message
- Telephone every home and business located in the designated area
CodeRed can be activated for:
- Hazardous chemical spills
- Local criminal activity
- Boil water alerts
- Homeland security issues.
While an initial database of telephone numbers has been added to the system, each resident or business is urged to register contact information. Residents who have recently moved, changed telephone numbers or use a cellular telephone for their home number are especially urged to update information.
