Join Montgomery Sister City to celebrate 24 years of friendship at this year’s annual summer street festival, Bastille Day to be held on July 20! Each year, Bastille Day Festival raises funds to support the sister city activities between Montgomery, Ohio and Neiully-Plaisance, France. Thousands of people come to enjoy two stages of entertainment, 16 food vendors, a wide-variety of brews and wines, a fantastic kids’ fun area plus many other fun activities done with a French flair.
This year, the north stage will feature a FAMILY lineup of entertainment including animal and puppet shows as well as performances by a local magician and youthful theater troops. While the main stage will feature the traditional opening of Bastille Day, with the US and French national anthems done by the Sycamore Community Band followed by the country sounds of Ridge Runners. The evening lineup features “pop music” by the talented party band, Off the Hook with The Mistics on the north stage for the evening crowds.
Bastille Day Beer Tasting returns!
On July 20, during the Bastille Day summer street festival, the annual beer tasting event will be held inside Village Tavern from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. and feature craft beers from around the world. Registered participants can taste 8 different brews, learn about their backgrounds and unique tastes, and then pick two of their favorites to enjoy for just $20 or $35 per couple. The tastes will include the #1 French brew, Kronenberg 1664. Others include:

- Kronenbourg Blanc (France) – Witbier
- Crabbies Ginger Beer (Scotland) – Ginger Beer
- E. Dupont Pommeau Cidre (France) – Cider

- Grimbergen Dubbel (Belgium) – Dubbel
- Schneider Aventinus (Germany) – Doppelbock
- Old Speckled Hen Pub Draft (England) – Pale Ale

Kronenbourg 1664 is the OFFICIAL BEER of Bastille Day! This French beer is the most popular pub brew in France and in honor of our sister city, Neiully-Plaisance, we are serving up this draft at Bastille Day.
Not only that! But, Kronenbourg BLANC will have its official launch for the state of Ohio at Bastille Day this July! Get in line to try this new to the USA French beer with “the upfront zest of lemon and mild tones hinting of wheat and orange” for a great summer taste.

What is Bastille Day?
Bastille Day is the French national holiday which commemorates the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789. In France, it is called “Fête Nationale” (“National Holiday”). Each year on July 14, France celebrates with parades, festivals, patriotic events and fireworks.
